Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Brussels Grand Place (or Grote Markt) is indeed very grand and most worthy of its title. Surrounded by spectacular architecture, predominantly from the late 17th Century, this historic cobblestone market square in the very heart of the city, is always a hive of activity. Visitors from all over the world come here to admire the palatial grandeur of La Grand Place. Pictured here is the gothic style Town Hall (Hotel de Ville), dating all the way back to the middle ages and still in use for civic purposes including marriages. I added a little texture to this black and white image complete the nostalgic feel.
I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
